Essential Qualification for WII Position
For the Project Assistant Post, the applicant should be a graduate in Commerce or any discipline from a well known university.
Individuals who are applying for the other posts i.e. Sl.No.1 to 6 should hold Ph.D or Masters’ Degree in Wildlife Sciences/ Zoology/ Life Sciences/ Forestry/ Environmental Studies/ Botany/ Veterinary science/ Management/ Remote Sensing/ Forestry or any relevant subject from an approved University.
Skills & Experience for WII Posts
The applicant should be an expert with excellent management skills, analytical skills, organizing programs and also must be proficient in MS Office, internet, Tally, Preparing cash book, Financial reports etc.
Moreover, the candidate must possess working experience in government/ autonomous organization/ public sector undertaking/ research/ conservation/ training for about 1 to 3 years in the relevant field.
Age Restraints on WII Vacancies
The upper age limit for the candidates who are applying for the Project Scientist post is capped to 50 years, 45 years for the Project Associates, 40 years for Project Fellow, Project Assistant & Operator Posts.
WII’s Recruitment Process
The applications received from the applicants through post shall be checked by the screening members of WII. The list of suitable candidates will be prepared and will be intimated for the written test.
Once they receive the intimation form the WII administration, the candidates have to visit the official website for downloading the admit card which indicates the date, time and place for written test. Candidates who qualify in the exam shall be invited for viva-voice.
Here, the interviewer will validate the candidates appeared for the interview through his/ her attitude, way of communication and work knowledge. The marks scored in written exam and interview will be put together and the final merit of shortlisted candidates will be prepared.
Written Exam Pattern for WII posts
The written examination will be conducted for 1 hour duration which consists of 40 objective type questions (20 from wildlife ecology and management and the remaining question from candidate’s relevant subject).
Project Personnel’s Salary Details
The candidates will be appointed on contractual basis for a period of one year and can be further proceeded based on their performance or requirements of WII.
During this tenure, the person appointed as project scientist will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 56000/- per month, Rs.45200/- pm for the project Associates, 32000/- pm for the Project Fellow & Operator and 20000/- pm for Project Assistant posts.
Besides the above pay, the appointees can get allowance which includes compensation for Medical & Accident Insurances, Telephone charges, Accommodation facilities, etc as per the existing guidelines of WII.
WII’s Fee Payment Mode
The applicants have to remit the application fee Rs.500/- by means of Demand Draft or Crossed Indian postal order in favor of the “Director, Wildlife Institute of India”, payable at Dehra Dun. The fee once paid cannot be refunded at any cost.
