WBPSC Civil Service Syllabus 2017 Exam Pattern Download. West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) does recruitment for filling vacant posts in state government departments/ organizations, when required. This Commission has publicized an annual competitive Civil Service (Executive) examination recently, with an intention of occupying the openings available for Group ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ and ‘D’ services. Graduates those who know Bengali language are eligible to participate in this WBPSC Civil Service exam. Objective/ Conventional type exams are going to be conducted by WBPSC for appointing the right person on different state cadres. About WBPSC Civil Service Exam 2017

WBPSC has arranged this annual competitive examination due to vacancies existing in 21 various departments/ posts like West Bengal Civil Service, Commercial Tax Service, Employment Service, Police Service, Assistant Canal Revenue Officer, Rehabilitation Officer, etc. Citizens who had not exceeded 32 years of age will only be entertained for this WBPSC Civil Service exam. Total vacancies are not yet been mentioned, but depending upon availability of vacancy and as per contestants wish appointments will be done.

The different phases of test are Preliminary Examination and Main Examination. Individuals succeeding with good marks in main exam will only be invited for the final Personality Test. The types of question/ exam pattern and syllabus details are given on next section.

WBPSC Civil Service Preliminary Exam Scheme

Preliminary exam for WBPSC Civil service posts will be conducted on only one paper, which is General Studies. But it has 8 different sections with 25 questions for each part. Each question carries 1 mark i.e. total marks is 200. Only multiple choice objective type questions would be asked for this exam on graduation standard and the test duration is 2 ½ hours. WBPSC Civil Service Exam Pattern 2017

Aforesaid preliminary exam will be conducted only for screening unsuitable/ unfitting applicants. Then based on preliminary exam marks, most apt candidates will be issued with the Admit Card for Main Examination with questions from 6 compulsory papers and any one optional subject (Bengali/ Hindi/ French/ Urdu, etc.). But for Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ jobs, no questions will be asked from optional subject.

The Arithmetic part of compulsory paper will only be in Madhyamik examination standard and all other papers will be of degree level standard. OMR sheets will be distributed for this exam and objective type MCQ would be asked by Commission. But for first two compulsory papers (English and Bengali/ Hindi/ Urdu/ Nepali/ Santali sections) conventional type questions shall be given.

Syllabus for WBPSC Civil Service Personality Test

On the basis of merit marks in main examination, deserving number of candidates will be invited for the Personality Test. General Interest questions will be asked by the recruiting authorities. In this selection mode, the personal/ leadership qualities, etc. of participants will be judged. This personality test will be organized for about 200 marks for Group ‘A’ & ‘B’ posts, 150 marks for Group ‘C’ jobs and 100 marks for Group ‘D’ services.
