Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board (TNSCB) has revealed a recruitment notification to fill 81 vacancies in the designation of Junior Engineer (JE) and Assistant Engineer (AE). TNSCB is an organisation functions under the administration of Tamil Nadu Government. In order to execute the housing projects assigned by TNSCB for the inhabitants of the slum area of the state, it requires Civil Engineers in large numbers. Aspirants possessing Engineering degree in civil discipline and having good academic qualification are eligible to participate in the competitive exam conducted by TNSCB for the recruitment of Engineers in TNSCB. About TNSCB Junior Engineer (JE) and Assistant Engineer (AE) Exams
According to the notification issued by Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board (TNSCB), we came to know that soon a competitive exam will be conducted by TNSCB for recruiting deserving candidates. It clearly mentions that the recruitment is only for Engineers who possess degree in civil discipline. After successful submission of the online application candidates have to prepare for the written exam. The written exam will be similar to the TANCET exam format. Hence, TNSCB syllabus will also be the same TANCET Civil Engineering syllabus.
Eligibility Criteria to Appear for TNSCB Engineer Recruitment Exam
Aspirants who are not more than 30 years and belonging to general category are eligible to compete in the written exam. Likewise candidates should possess Bachelors of Engineering (B.E) degree in civil stream is the education qualification for the jobs in TNSCB. Candidates who satisfy these two eligibility criteria are eligible to participate in the exam conducted by TNSCB for Civil Engineer recruitment.
TNSCB Exam Pattern 2017 for Junior Assistant Engineer Exam
As said in the official notification, the competitive exam will be conducted as per TANCET norms. The TANCET exam pattern for civil engineering stream contains three sections. Similar to that TNSCB Syllabus is also mentioned in the table below.

In addition to this candidates may have write the exam for General Paper. However, for Junior Engineer (JE) Civil designation the questions will be drafted in diploma standard.
Each question will carry one mark and for every wrong answer .25 marks will be reduced. If a candidate answered 75 correct and 25 wrong answers, he will get 68.75 marks out of 100 marks. In simple term for every 4 wrong answers 1 mark will be reduced. The questions will be objective type, candidates have to answer the right solution from the given multiple choices.
