Individuals, who are interested to join in TNPSC under the designation of Junior Scientific Officer, should have possessed M.Sc degree under the branches of Forensic Science with graduate degree in fields of Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology.

Age Confinement for Scientific Officer Post

Applicants for TNPSC Recruitment for the post of Junior Scientific Officer must have attained a maximum age limit between 18 to 30 years. The maximum age limit is not allotted for candidates belonging to the community of SC, SC (A), ST, MBC/ DC, BC but they have attained the minimum age limit.

Selection Technique Followed by TNPSC

Selection procedure will comprise of written examination and oral test in the form of an interview. The final stage of selection will be on the basis of total marks obtained by the attendees in both. The examination will be conducted at the centers of Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai. Attendees will appear in their own expenses.

Examination Pattern of TNPSC

The written examination will be conducted in two sections, which includes questions from subjects and General Studies. Totally 300 marks is allotted for Subjects and 200 marks for General Studies, with a grand total of 570 marks.

The duration of the examination is 3 hours for the subjects and 2 hours for General Studies. Minimum qualifying marks for the general category is 228 and for other candidates are 171. The brief syllabus is available in the notification of TNPSC.

Salary Scale for Junior Scientific officer

Appointees in TNPSC for the post of Junior Scientific Officer will receive a pay scale of Rs.9300-34800/-. In addition to that, they will receive the extra benefit of grade pay of Rs.4800/-.

Examination Fee for TNPSC Recruitment

Applicants for the TNPSC Recruitment will have to pay an amount of Rs.100/- as examination fee and Rs.50/- for registration. Candidates, who have already registered in one time registration system, are waived from the registration fee.

Aspirants claiming under the category of SC/ ST/ PWD/ Widows are exempted from the payment of fees. Two free chances are provided for Ex-servicemen with minimum qualification and three free chances are applicable for MBC/ Denotified Communities/ BC (Except Muslim) categories with holding degree.

Free chances are applicable for few of the applications only. Application fee can be paid in either State Bank of India or Indian Bank.
