MTS Selection Process: The selection process of Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) comprises two phases of written test. Based on the performance of the participant in the first test he/ she will be invited for the second phase of exam. However, there is no personal or face-to-face interview conducted beyond these two phases of exam.
- Phase I (Paper – 1): OMR based Objective type Exam
- Phase II (Paper – 2): Descriptive Exam to test language skills
Salary for MTS: The MTS post comes under Non-Gazetted/ Non-Ministerial Group ‘C’ category. According to the 6th pay commission candidates who got selected as a Multi Tasking Staff will get monthly salary as per Pay Band – 1 with admissible grade pay. After the implement of 7th pay commission salary structure, the monthly salary of MTS will be according to Level – 1 of matrix level pay.
- Salary as per (Pay Band – 1): Rs.5200-20200/- with GP Rs.1800/-
- Salary as per (Level Matrix – 1): Rs.18000/- Per Month

SSC MTS Exam Pattern and Procedure
Exam for Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Multi Tasking Staff consists of two phases. Each phase comprises a written exam, among those two phases one will be objective type exam and the phase two is descriptive.
Phase – 1 Objective Type Exam: The exam pattern for this exam comprises four parts. Part A and B will be for 25 marks each. Likewise, Part C and D will be for 50 marks each. The exam will be for hosted for 2 hours and it weighs 150 marks in total. The syllabus of this exam is listed below.

Phase – 2 Descriptive Type Exam: This descriptive exam is conducted for candidates who successfully completed the phase-1 exam. However, this exam will be conducted for 50 marks and for the duration of 30 minutes.
