Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is a legal body which conducts competitive exams for selecting deserving staffs to serve below different Ministries, departments and its subordinates. This year also SSC planned to organize a Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam for filling Postal assistant, operator, Lower division clerk and court clerk positions. So it issued a vacancy notification through their official site, few months back. Aspirants who have qualified in higher secondary level and aging between 18 to 27 years were permitted to apply for these vacancies through online. To help those candidates, we are providing the detailed SSC CHSL Exam Syllabus to prepare for the CHSL exam. Furthermore, we have mentioned the examination pattern and mark allotments in the below paragraphs.

SSC recruits lot of young aspirants in various government designations, each year. This time also nearly 5134 candidates are going to be placed in different departments. Candidates who are interested in government jobs should prepare really hard for the examination, because the competition has become so tough.
But don’t worry, we will you guide in preparing for the upcoming examination in SSC. The topics for the CHSL Exam would be easy for most of the candidates. The selection process will include Written & Descriptive exam and Typing/ skill test. SSC CHSL Syllabus for Postal Assistant Exam
After applying for the Postal Assistant Exam through online, the applicants would have started to prepare for this examination. The syllabus for this exam is already given in the official notification. However, we are providing the complete SSC CHSL Syllabus 2017 in simple format.

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2017 for Postal Assistant Exam
The Postal Assistant Exam will be conducted through online only. Each section consists of 25 questions for a total of 50 marks. The question will be available in English and Hindi. The examination pattern for the SSC CHSL Exam is displayed in tabular form below.

Contenders have to answer the questions through online only. There will be 5 options for each question. Candidates have to select the right option and save the answers. Once the 75 minutes completes, the system will automatically terminates the exam. Answer the questions carefully because negative mark of 0.50 will be detected for each wrong answer.
Aspirants who are securing the minimum qualifying marks in the Postal Assistant Exam will be qualified for Tier-II examination i.e. descriptive type exam.
Descriptive Type Exam
In the Tier-II paper of CHSL 2017, the exam will be conducted through paper and pen mode. The total marks allotted for this exam will be 100 and will take place for one hour duration (extra 20 minutes for PWD category). This descriptive type exam is conducted to check the writing skills of candidates.
The paper comprises of essay writing and letter or application writing. The minimum qualifying marks in the Tier-II exam will be 33%. You can write this exam either in Hindi or English only.
Skill Test/ Typing Test for SSC CHSL Exam
There will be a skill test for Data Entry Operator and typing test for the rest of the positions. In the skill test, the contestants should able to enter the data at a speed of 8000 key depression per hour on a computer. At the time of this test, the participants will be given a passage and it should be typed within 15 minutes.
In case of typing test, the candidates should type the passage within 10 minutes over a computer. Those who are qualifying in this test will be added in the final merit list.
