The Junior Parliamentary Interpreter is for Group ‘A’ service and Senior Executive/ Stenographer/ Translator will work under Group ‘B’ service. The candidates hired for Junior Clerk/ Junior Proof Reader positions shall get appointed under Group ‘C’ service of Rajya Sabha. Rajya Sabha Recruitment Eligible Qualifications
The qualifications will vary based on their designations as Master’s Degree/ Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields from recognized university. But, persons applying against Interpreter Reporter posts should have studied English/ Hindi/ Assamese/ Marathi/ Urdu upto degree level.
Also, aspirants those who wish to engage as Reporter of Rajya Sabha must have a Shorthand speed of writing 160 words per minute (w.p.m.) in Hindi/ English. If there are no sufficient candidates with this speed, then in that case aspirants with Shorthand speed of 140 w.p.m. will be considered.
A Shorthand speed of 80 w.p.m. (English) is necessary for Stenographer position. For Junior Clerk position, a shorthand speed of 40 w.p.m. in specified languages is essential. Additional preference shall be given to aspirants having stenography skills in both English and Hindi.
Individual applying for Security Assistant designation should satisfy the physical standards as given in official website of Rajya Sabha. Also, they should possess NCC ‘C’ or sportsman certificate in concerned competitions.
For Translator position, Diploma or certificate in Translation course is desirable and persons willing to apply for Junior Proof Reader position should have accomplished Diploma/ PG Diploma in relevant fields from recognized institute.
Except for Staff Car Driver designation, computer course certificate recognized by AICTE/ DOEACC is mandatory for all posts. Matriculation or equivalent with valid LMV/ HMV licence is the eligible qualification for Staff Car Driver position.
Experience Details to Apply on Rajya Sabha Vacancies
Aspirants applying against Junior Proof Reader/ Translator (except for Diploma holders)/ Interpreter position must have gained 1 to 3 years of working experience in relevant areas from any reputed firm. It is notable that, the years of experience varies based on designation.
Rajya Sabha Recruitment Age Criteria
Even persons those who had attained a minimum age of 18 years are also eligible for this recruitment. But, the maximum applying age for Interpreter/ Translator/ Proof Reader positions should not be beyond 30 years. For all other designations, the curbed upper age is 27 years. The closing date of On-line registration is the cut-off date for determining upper age limit.
The SC/ STs & candidates in government service will get 5 years of upper age relaxation and OBCs shall be provided with 3 years of age concession. The persons with any disabilities would get 10 years relaxation in upper age and the Ex-Servicemen can apply upto 45 years of age, for this recruitment.
Rajya Sabha Selection Criteria
The Rajya Sabha has planned to organize Oration/ Preliminary Examination for applying aspirants, inorder to shortlist the total number of applicants for next examination. The Group I & II applicants shall only be invited for Oration Test in Hindi and/ or English.
The persons coming for final stage of recruitment process should submit the printout copy of application form, fee challan form (if applicable) and NOC (if any).
Exam Pattern of Rajya Sabha Recruitment
The preliminary examination shall be conducted for Groups III, IV & V posts with questions from General Intelligence, General Awareness, Hindi and/ or English languages. For Group VI designations, the preliminary examination paper will contain multiple choice questions from General English, Hindi, Elementary Maths and Driving Techniques & Motor Car Mechanisms.
Note: If the total number of applications received is less than expected, in that case preliminary test will not be conducted.
Scale of Pay Given by Rajya Sabha
Individuals designated for the position of Interpreter/ Reporter shall receive a monthly salary of Rs.15600 – 39100/- as per Pay Band – 3. He/ She hired for Senior Executive/ Research Assistant/ Stenographer/ Security Assistant/ Junior Library Assistant/ Translator positions would get Pay Band – 2 salary of Rs.9300 – 34800/-.
All other appointees will be offered with a salary of Rs.5200 – 20200/- as per Pay Band – 1. The selected persons would also get Grade Pay from Rs.2400 – 5400/-, depending upon their designations.
Rajya Sabha Recruitment’s Application Fee
Except SC/ ST/ PWD/ Female/ Ex-Servicemen, all others should download the Challan form given in Rajya Sabha’s official website which will be generated after final submission of On-line application form.
Application fee and bank intimation charges of Rs.160/- should be deposited in any of the SBI branch, using downloaded Challan form. Also, check whether the form is filled with necessary details by bank officials, after doing payment.
Note: This fee should be deposited only after 96 hours of On-line application submission.
How to Apply for Rajya Sabha Recruitment
On-line mode of application submission shall only be entertained by Rajya Sabha authorities. Before applying, keep necessary testimonials, valid Email id and scanned photo & signature with you. The steps to be followed for applying are given below.
- Visit Rajya Sabha’s official website.
- Click on “Apply Online” option.
- Choose the “New Registration Form” tab, to register.
- Enter your details, after reading the instructions given in advertisement.
- Upload your photograph and signature as per specifications.
- Check the entries you have made and click on “Final Submit” option.
- A Fee Challan form and a link for uploading Fee Payment Details will be generated, for candidates not exempted from fee payment.
- After fee payment, login again by clicking “Apply Online” option of Rajya Sabha’s website.
- Enter your fee payment details and upload the scanned copy of fee challan form given from bank (as per specifications).
- After uploading the details, take printout copy of completed application form for reference purpose.
Note: Candidates applying for more than one post under same Group can apply in one application form. If they are applying on different Groups (mentioned above in table), then they should submit separate applications.
