National Research Centre for Orchids (NRCO) is a research Institute which is functioning under Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), has trumpeted a ‘Walk-In-Interview’ announcement for riskiest and very active persons to engage in their project.
Candidates selected for the post of Research Associate have to work under National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NHMS) project, Extramural projects are handled by Senior Research Fellow, Young Professional-II deals Institutional Projects (Genetics) and Junior Research Fellow manages BRNS-BARC project.

Appointment of the aspirants is purely based on contract and is coterminous with the scheme. Initially the individuals are appointed for a period of one year and it may be extendable up to 3 years, depending on their satisfactory performance. The candidates selected for Himalayan Research Fellowship must submit a surety bond at the time of appointment.

Qualifications for SRF and JRF
Applicants for the post of Research Associate in NRCO should have completed Ph.D in Life Sciences/ Environmental Sciences/ Agricultural Sciences with specialization in Botany or related fields.
Or else those candidates should possess M.Tech degree in above mentioned disciplines with specializations in that field. Persons applying for the post of Senior Research Fellow should hold Post Graduate Degree in above mentioned fields.
For the position of Young Professional-II, aspirants should finished Post Graduate Degree in Agricultural Sciences with specialization in Agriculture related fields. For the post of Junior Research Fellow, individuals should possess M.Sc/ B.E/ B.Tech degree in Botany related subjects with specialization in that field.
Knowledge in molecular techniques is also desired for the post of Senior Research Fellow and Young Professional-II.
Experience Required for NRCO vacancies
Research Associate posting needed working experience in orchids. For the post of Senior Research Fellow and Young Professional-II, Aspirants should have 1-3 years of research experience Biotechnologies/ Molecular Biology.
Experience in Tissue Culture/ Applied Botany/ Plant Genetic Resources/ Molecular Characterization with Mutation breeding in plants, irradiation techniques are necessary for the designation of Junior Research Fellow.
Age Constraint for NRCO Recruitment 2016
For getting placed in NRCO recruitment 2016 maximum age limit for the position of Research Associate is 35 years,. For men, the upper age limit for the post of Senior Research Fellow is 35 years and for women is 40 years.
The minimum age limit for the post of Young Professional-II is 21 years and the age is ceiling up to 45 years.
The maximum age limit is freeze up to 28 years for the post of Junior Research Fellow. Age relaxations are allowed only for the post of Research Associate and Junior Research Fellow as per Government of India rules.
Selecting Procedure for SRF and JRF
Attendees are selected in NRCO recruitment, 2016 is by interview. The applicants must carry original certificates, one passport size photograph, Thesis in original and brief note on research works carried out during Post Graduation/ Graduation along with one set of photo copy of certificates during the time of Walk-In-Interview. No travel or dearness allowance will be paid for the attendees.
Wages Applicable for Designee
Candidate who gets placed under the designation of Research Associate will receive a salary of Rs.36000/- per month. For other positions, the appointees will receive a salary of Rs.25000/- per month. Additionally all the designations will also be provided with house rent allowance.
