Graduate who have National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC/ SLET/ SET including the below qualification are eligible to apply for these positions. 80% vacancies are reserved for the indigenous inhabitants of Nagaland and 25 % for candidates belonging to Konyak, Phom, sangtam, etc.

Educational Details for NPSC Positions
To apply for the Assistant Professor positions, the candidates should have completed Post Graduate Degree with minimum 55% marks or any equivalent grade from a recognized university with valid NET qualification certificate.
Applicants holding PhD degree in accordance with UGC (University Grants Commission) don’t need any NET qualification. The minimum qualification required to apply for the Sl.No. III to VII is M.Sc or MA degree with 50% marks in their relevant streams.
For the Post Graduate Teacher position, the applicants should have persuaded BE/B.Tech/ M.Sc in Computer Science/Engineering or any similar qualification with 50% marks form an approved university.
Age Relaxation on NPSC Vacancies
The upper age limit of the applicant should not be less than 21 years and beyond 30 years. The capped age limit can be permitted to relax upto 5 years for SC/ ST/ Government servants. The age will be calculated as on 1st January 2016.
Screening Procedures for 72 NPSC Posts
The selection methodology consists of written exam and interview. The applications form send through the post will be verified by the screening committee.
The eligible candidates online will be intimated for written exam through email. The candidates who qualify in the written exam shall be invited for the interview. Based on the interviewee’s performance at the interview, the final selection list will be prepared.
Exam Pattern for NPSC’s Written Test
The written exam comprises of 2 papers i.e. General English & General Knowledge and a descriptive paper in their relevant subject.
The general English (Essay, Précis writing, Amplification and Grammar) and General Knowledge (Indian History, Polity, Science & Technology, and Economy & Commerce) will consist for 200 objective type questions for a total of 200 marks.
Pay Scale for Professor Vacancies
The individual selected as Assistant Professor and Sl.No.4 to 13 will get salary as per the pay scale of Rs.15600 to 39100/- with a grade pay between Rs.5400 to 6000/- per month and Rs.9300 to 34800/- for the Sl.No.14 to 27 with a grade pay of Rs.4600/- per month as per the decree of NPSC.
Fee Payment Mode for NPSC
The fee payment should be made by means of Demand Draft only. The candidates have to draw Rs.300/- in the form of DD in favour of “Secretary, Nagaland Public Service Commission, Kohima”, payable at Kohima.
Applying Process for NPSC
Eligible candidates can download the prescribed application form from NPSC’s website: www.npsc.co.in and duly fill the form with the necessary details.
Attach the self attested documents of one passport size photo (to be pasted on the given space), educational certificate and mark sheets, inhabitant certificate, Community certificate, No Objection certificate, DD, etc.
Send these documents to “Secretary, Office of the Nagaland Public Service Commission, New Capital Complex, Kohima-797001, Nagaland” on or before the last date.
