NIO Goa Recruitment 2016 Walk-in Drive for Project Assistant and JRF Posts. National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), a laboratory underneath Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) requires professionals for Project Assistant and JRF posts. This is a rare opportunity launched for aspirants willing to work in Indian Ocean related projects.

Candidates those who are able to support Scientists in NIO and take part in data collection activities can apply. Hired aspirants would get posting in Goa, where NIO’s headquarters exist. The selected individuals will serve in this institute only for 3 (PA – III) to 6 months (JRF / PA – II) duration. The detailed eligibility conditions and other informations are given below.
National Institute of Oceanography (NIO) involved in doing research on Indian Ocean to understand its special characteristics, was established in the year 1996. Regarding this, more than 5000 research articles have been published by this institute. It is also engaged in applied research sponsored by industry.
Now, this institute serves as an advanced centre of education in Ocean Sciences, because it has 200 scientists, technical support staffs and well equipped infrastructure. More than 300 students are pursuing their project research in this institute, every year.

Educational Qualifications for NIO Recruitment
Candidates holding M.Sc degree in Physical Oceanography can apply for Project Assistant – III post in NIO. Also, they should possess knowledge in FORTRAN, GMT and Ferret.
Individuals willing to engage as PA – II/ JRF should have finished M.Sc (Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry/ Hydrochemistry/ Chemical Oceanography/ Marine Sciences & Marine Chemistry) from recognized university. The applying persons should also be conversant in Ms-Excel and Ms-Office.
It is notable that, persons applying for JRF/ PA – II post must have valid Passport. If the candidates have passed in CSIR – UGC NET (LS) examination then such aspirants shall be considered for JRF (LS) position.
Experience Details of NIO Recruitment
Aspirants those who had gained 2 years experience in relevant fields are eligible for Project Assistant – III post. Individuals having experience in tide data analysis are also desirable for this position.
Persons willing to work as JRF/ PA – II in NIO must have obtained ocean going experience. Also, they should be able to manage independent research and must be capable to operate analytical equipments & other laboratory works.
NIO’s Age Confinement
Individuals coming for Walk-in Drive should not exceed an upper age of 32 years, for Project Assistant – III designation. The constraint age would be computed as on date of interview.
Selection Mode of NIO
The National Institute of Oceanography has planned to conduct Walk-in Interview for candidates those who wish to work in the above mentioned projects. Aspirants arriving for Interview should keep their original and self attested copies of certificates.
Selection Authorities will go through the certificates and applicants whose documents were found eligible and valid shall only be permitted to attend the Interview. Candidates having enough talents and knowledge in relevant areas would get appointed to Project Assistant / JRF posts.
Stipends Given by NIO
The individual deputed for Project Assistant – III position will be offered with a monthly stipend of Rs.18000/- and he/ she hired for the designation of JRF/ PA – II shall get Rs.16000/- per month. Selected persons may also get allowances and benefits as per NIO rules.

Aspirants those who wish to work in NIO’s projects should arrive for Walk-in Interview with original and self attested copies of all Educational Qualification certificates & mark sheets, Caste, Date of Birth, Experience, No Objection Certificate (if any), etc.
The aforementioned documents should be produced infront of Selection Committee, on time. Candidates coming late for Interview will not be entertained.
