NCAOR Recruitment 2016 – Walk-In Interview for Trained Manpower. National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Research (NCAOR) is an autonomous Organization which is functioning under the Ministry of Earth Sciences is co-coordinating the Indian Antarctic expeditions to engage trained manpower’s for its research in Antarctica.

NCAOR is recruiting personalities who are well versed in Operation, Maintenance and repair of heavy vehicles or machines. The positions are purely based on contract for the season of 2 years (2016-2018). The initial contract shall be for a period of 5 months or 14 months. Selected candidates will be required to sign a contract with NCAOR.
Appointees will be participated in Antarctic expedition and perform the routine duties assigned by the leader of Expedition from time to time. Willing candidates can attend the ‘Walk-In Interview’ at a specified date and venue. More details about NCAOR recruitment is mentioned below,

Qualifications Essential for Trained Manpower
Applicants for the post of Male Nurse in NCAOR Recruitment should possessed Diploma in Nursing, as approved by Indian Nursing Council. Or else those candidates should hold relevant certificate from recognized Institute of Central or State Government.
For the designation of Lab Technician, aspirants should possess Graduate Degree in Physical Sciences. Persons applying for the position of Inventory/ Book Keeping Staff must completed 12th with holding ITI certificate in computer operating and programming assistant.
Civilians who wish to apply for rest of the positions except for the post of Crane Operator should hold ITI certificate or Diploma in Engineering in relevant fields. Diploma/ Degree in Hotel Management and catering or culinary art from any recognized University or Institute is necessary for applicants for the post of cook.
Experience Required for Trained Manpower
Civilian candidates who are applying for the post of Crane Operator should possess at least one year experience of operating hydraulic cranes. 2 years of experience in relevant field is needed for the positions of Cook and Lab Technician.
Lab Technician should be experienced in handling the equipments of Scientific Laboratory. Cook should be skilled in culinary art in Indian and continental dishes.
For remaining other positions aspirants should hold 4 years of experience. Minimum 4 years of experience in respective trades should be hold by Ex-servicemen’s for the posts of Crane Operator.
Way of Selecting Aspirants in NCAOR
Interested individuals will be selected on the basis of interview. Initially the interested candidates have to register their details in the registration form (AL-2007), which is available in the website of www.ncaor.gov.in and forward the registration form to the e-mail address firstname.lastname@example.org.
For the purpose of short listing, screening will be done in accordant with the candidates registered information’s in their website. And also the candidates will have to undergo medical examination at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) and Snow Ice Acclimatization training will be conducted at ITBP, Auli for about 15 days. The dates will be informed by NCAOR later.
Wages Provided for Employees in NCAOR
Appointees for the aforesaid positions will receive a fixed monthly salary of Rs.24150/-for those who are travelling to Antarctica for the first time. Designees who are already employed in NCAOR Antarctica contract will receive a salary of Rs.32200/-. The salary allotted is fixed per month, for the entire duration of the contract.
In addition to that, appointed candidates will receive Special Hardship allowance of Rs.1125/- per day during the summer season and Rs.1688/- per day during the winter season.
And also those aspirants will be provided with Special Kit Allowance of Rs.20000/- for short term and Rs.30000/- for long term. Accident Insurance will be covered up to 25 lakhs for the selected candidates.
Walk-In Interview Procedure of NCAOR
Individuals who are shortlisted for interview will have to report the venue of “ Reception Counter, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Prithvi Bhawan, IMD Campus, Opp. India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110 003”.
Participants of interview have to report the venue between 9.00 AM to 10.00 AM. Applicants are required to bring original certificates/ documents (proof of age, qualification, experience and residential address), one set of self attested photocopies of relevant documents. Ex-servicemen personals must bring identity card and discharge book in original.
Only ex-servicemen candidates will receive travel allowance and accommodation at the rate not exceeding an amount of Rs.500/- per day (maximum 3 days).
