JNU Recruitments 2016 for 12 Research Fellow and Assistant Positions. The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) organizes a recruitment drive to appoint candidates for the projects under various departments like Environmental and Life Science, Molecular Medicine, cultural studies and Nano Science. The projects are sponsored by the DST, CSIR, UGC and Department of Biotechnology. JNU is looking for experienced candidates to work in these projects for a short term period. During the contractual period, the employee will receive a fixed salary given by the funding agency based on the project they are assigned and the performance of the candidates.
JNU Recruitments 2016:
The contract period can be extended or terminated depending upon the service of the employee or till the completion of project. The candidates who are willing to apply should possess good knowledge in computer operations and programming knowledge. Essential Qualification to apply for JNU Positions:
The applicants who wish to apply for the JRF post must possess Masters Degree in Remote Sensing/ Geo informatics/ Physics/ Computer Sciences/ Environmental Sciences or Studies/ Forestry with knowledge in Hyper-spectral remote sensing, IDL/Matlab.
If you are applying for the Research associate post the applicant should hold a Ph.D degree in Computational Biology/Informatics/Life Science with work experience in docking, simulation and structural biology.
For the SRF post the candidates should have completed 1st class M.sc in Life Science or related fields with practical research experience in molecular/Cell Biology techniques.
The candidate with valid NET qualification and publication of paper will be given more preference.
If you are interested to apply for the office and Research assistant posts, the aspirants must have done a degree in any subject with knowledge in computer applications with 3 to 5 years office work handling experience and should also be fluent in Hindi, English and Kanada.
For the Project Assistant post the candidate must have completed B.Sc or M.Sc or any equivalent qualification relevant to the field.
Higher secondary qualification is needed for the lab assistant post with experience in Lab maintenance etc.
Age Restriction on JNU Vacancies:
The age limit for the Project Assistant post should not be beyond 28 years for the applier belonging to general category, 31 years for the OBC candidates and 33 year for the SC/ST category candidates as per the government norms. The age limit for the other positions is not mentioned in the JNU’s official notification.
Recruitment process for 12 Research Fellow and Assistant posts:
The candidates have to send their application form to the JNU’s respective address and after the verification of the application form the candidates will be shortlisted. The shortlisted candidates will be intimated through the email for Interview or written exam.
Based on the number of candidates, selection committee will decide whether to conduct a written test or not. Based on their performance in the interview candidates will be assigned the related projects.
Salary Details for Research Fellow and Assistant positions:
The appointed individuals will be on a contractual period initially for 3 months to 1 year based on his/her satisfactory services. The salary of the employees will be fixed by the funding agency only. So the salary received by the appointees each month will be based on the experience and working skills.
The appointee workings as project Assistant will get a consolidated salary of Rs.8000/- as per the funding agency DBT.
