Combined Defence Services (CDS) Exam Syllabus is a subjects or topics which are listed for the competitive exam conducted for Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). CDS Exam Syllabus

As from the term Combined Defence Services, we have to understand that this competitive exam includes all the three defence services. While applying online for this exam candidates have to choose for which service they are willing to join. Based on the service they choose the CDS exam syllabus differs.

Aspirants who wish to join Officers Training Academy (OTA) Chennai, then they have to write an exam for 200 marks and it contains two subjects. For Indian Military Academy (IMA), Naval Academy (NA) and Air Force Academy (AFA) the syllabus contains three sections and the exam weigh 300 marks i.e.; 100 mark for each section.

CDS OTA Syllabus Pattern

This is the syllabus which is applicable for candidates who are willing to join Officers Training Academy. CDS OTA Syllabus contains two subjects they are English and General Knowledge. Each contains 100 marks and that aggregates 200 marks. This exam will be conducted for four hours i.e.; two hours for each paper and the questions will be in objective type.

CDS Syllabus for IMA, NA and AFA

The syllabus pattern for IMA, NA and AFA contains three sections, among these two sections remains same as listed in CDS OTA syllabus. In addition to this Elementary Mathematics will also be added and the total marks for this exam is 300 only. However, the duration remains same as two hours for each paper.

CDS English Syllabus

There is a not exact topic for English subject. However, the question will be drafted to test ability of the participant to communicate, read and write for the daily works. In simple term the question contains workmanlike use of words that is to check the English knowledge of the candidate. However, candidates can expect questions from graduation level of English.

CDS General Knowledge Syllabus

The General Knowledge subject contains two sections (Current Events and Indian History & Geography). Applicants have to prepare for all the topics given in this section. Totally this section weighs 100 marks and all questions are objective type. This question paper is bilingual in nature and candidates can answer it in Hindi or English language.

Current Events

In current events the questions will be drafted from the recent events which occurred in the past six months to one year. CDS Maths Syllabus

Candidates who are applying for IMA, NA and AFA are only need to participate in Maths paper. The CDS Maths syllabus contains subject drafted from Elementary Mathematics. Likewise, all other subject maths also carries 100 marks and the duration this exam is 2 hours only. Candidates have to prepare for this paper from the topics derived from matriculation level mathematics. CDS Syllabus for Personal Interview

Aspirants who else successfully completed CDS written exam will be further qualify for next level of interview. In this stage the Intelligence and Personality of the participant will be tested. Some of the categories which included in this test are as follows.
