BSI Recruitment 2016 Walk-in Interview for JRF, RA & Assistant Posts. Botanical Survey of India (BSI), a government supported botanical research institute working below the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has made a job proposal with the intension of engaging research oriented experts in the vacant place of JRF, RA and Assistant posts for an interim period.
BSI is currently undertaking two biological Projects which based on Indian Himalayan Landscapes and National Parks in Western Himalaya. Individuals who have ample knowledge in Taxonomy, Ecology and GIS (Geographic Information System) are more suitable for these positions.

Candidates who are longing to work in these projects should appear for the walk-in interview which will be held on the fixed dates. Travel charges won’t be provided for the individuals taking part in the interview.
Selectees shall be based at the units of BSI located in Kolkata, Dehradun, Sikkim and Shillong. The appointments will not exceed above 3 years and get terminated as soon as the project gets wind up. The eligibility standards of BSI are summarized below.

Educational Details for BSI Posts
Appliers holding PhD degree in Botany from a well known university are eligible to apply for Research Associate (RA) Post. Suppliants who are interested to apply for the Junior research Fellow (JRF) positions must possess M.Sc degree in Botany with minimum 55% marks in aggregate.
Lastly, for the Filed Assistant cum Laboratory Assistant post, the applicant should have passed 12th standard from any recognized Board of School education.
Desirable Experience for BSI Positions
The applicants should hold post qualification work experience in Indian Himalayan regions, Plant collection and field surveying works.
Upper Age Limit for BSI Jobs
The Upper Age Limit for the male and female applicants who are applying for the RA post is capped to 40 years and 45 years respectively. In the same way, for the JRF post, the age limit for the male and female candidates is fixed to 28 and 33 years.
However, the age limit for the Field Assistant post is set to 40 years for all applicants. Age relaxation shall be granted upto 3 years for the OBC category, 5 years for the SC /ST and 10 years for the PWD category candidates.
BSI Recruitment Selection Process
Candidates who are eligible for these posts may appear before the selection committee on the pre-decided date and time. The contestants must carry one set of duly signed supporting documents along with the original prints for the same. The application form should be typed in the prescribed format only.
After the documents verification, only the deserving candidates will be allowed to take part in the interview. The selection committee will judge the participants by his or her research knowledge, communication skills, etc.
Salary Structure for BSI Appointees
The well qualified persons shall be recruited at BSI to work below short term projects. These positions are coterminous with the above project. During this tenure, the individuals appointed as RA will get a consolidated pay of Rs.36000/- pm.
The JRF will receive a consolidated pay of Rs.16000/-pm for the 1st year two years and Rs.18000/- from the 3rd year and finally, the field assistant will get a fixed salary of Rs.5000/- pm. Apart from this salary, the designees are admissible for house rent allowance as per the existing rules of BSI.
